The Foundation

The Foundation was started as an answer to one simple question, “help, my dog has a hole in his sole, what do I do?”

My purebred dog and I were walking along a beach one dewy spring morning. I, enjoying the waves breaking on the sand, my dog playing with his mixed breed companion. It wasn’t until we were headed down the path leading back to our vehicle that I noticed the limp in my dog’s step.

I thought my world had ended because I was sure it was over for my best friend.

My mind raced with worry. Could it be? Is this the end? I thought my world had ended because I was sure it was over for my best friend.  I examined each of his paws and it was the last that revealed the heartbreaking wound.

We were lucky. I mended my boy back to full health. When the worst of it was over I couldn’t help but reflect back on what had transpired. What happened to those that were not as fortunate as us? Who helps them?
